The Hobbit
When I told my mom what the changes were from the movie to the book (both of us had seen the first two parts), she said "That sounds so boring!" So if you're looking for a plot-driven book, don't pick this one. Really, I guess you should pick up this book because ... I said so. And it's just amazing. So read it.
